With a population of 2,473 during the 2020 Census, Chamberlain is the county seat of Brule County.
The City of Chamberlain uses the Commission form of government with a Mayor and four City Commissioners.
The City Commission meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 5:15 pm.

Tim serves as the Chairman in the Mayor’s absence. He has served on the Chamberlain City Council since April 1992 representing Water and Wastewater, 911 Board and Tri-County Landfill. He is a Veteran and proudly served over 20 years in the South Dakota Army National Guard 200th Engineer Co.

Currently serves on the South Dakota Banker’s Association Legislative Committee and the Agricultural Committee as well as various local organizations.
